The Angel of Shavano Car Show is an annual summer event held in August at Riverside Park in the heart of Salida. It's a relatively small and intimate car show with no admission that's hosted as a fundraiser for the Chaffee County Search and Rescue South group.

Although they do a prize system for categories such as best original, restored and custom cars, I've taken it upon myself to give my own awards. Below are the top seven classic cars at the car show. As you can see, I gravitate toward old cars in original condition and restored vehicles where the owners maintained as much originality and dignity of their car.

The Winner 1924 Buick - In overall impression and details, this original 1924 Buick won my heart.

	1929 Ford Model A - Attractive mint green and black Ford Model A.
	1940 Buick Limousine - Imagine riding in luxury in a 1940 Buick Limousine.
	1950 Chevrolet Deluxe - In nearly original condition, the owner inherited this classic old car from his great-grandparents.
	1955 Cadillac - Only one Cadillac was in the car show, and it was a great one. This shiny cherry red '55 Cadillac got a lot of attention!
	1957 Chevrolet Bel Air - A handsome dark orange 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. This was probably the very best restored old car in the show.
	1969 AMC AMX - A bright yellow AMC AMX muscle car.
