Antique Cars

My List Of The Top Ten Classic Cars At The 2011 Car Show

The annual Fourth of July weekend car show transpired on East Main Street in Buena Vista, Colorado recently. Once again, I picked out the top ten antique cars that I liked the most. By the way, my definition of the term "antique car" includes any vehicle 40 years or older.

I made this list for fun, of course, but a few of the criteria were as follows: Overall impression of the car, makes and models I liked and even the friendliness of the owner. Another important factor is the level to which the car has been kept original. Although I can be forgiving of many things, if an old classic had a modern "hot rod" steering wheel, I immediately walked away and gave no attention to it. Sadly, many were like that.

You can enjoy my photos from previous shows here: 2008 car show and 2010 car show.
The Winner 1958 Chevrolet Brookwood
1958 Chevrolet Brookwood - This year, I did pick one ultimate winner. This beautiful 1958 Chevrolet Brookwood station wagon with beautiful purple paint and silver highlights won my heart. The sporty look ... and it's a station wagon!

I confess I only took one picture of it during the car show, but the link leads to photos and a video taken two days earlier. This was the only Cadillac in the entire show.
1965 Pontiac GTO 1965 Pontiac GTO - You can't go wrong with a mid-1960s GTO. What a sports car!
